Qualifier: equivalent or similar to

Guideline: OECD Guideline 412 (Subacute Inhalation Toxicity: 28-Day Study)

Deviations: yes

Remarks: see below

Principles of method if other than guideline:  The exposure period was shortened to 5 days. Indeed, the purpose of this 5-day dose range finding inhalation toxicity study was to evaluate the range of toxicity, to indicate potential target organs (if any) associated with the exposure of the test substance when administered to rats by whole-body inhalation for 6 hours/day for 5 consecutive days. The results were used to select the dose levels for a subsequent 28-day toxicity study.
